Exercising young minds

Year 4 and 5 students at St Peter's School in Rockhampton have been gearing up to complete a virtual walk of the Great Wall of China, as part of a CQUniversity research project.

Students will wear a personal pedometer to measure the number of steps they take on a daily basis and will get the chance to add the statistics into an interactive website.

    The CQUniversity Chancellor's Challenge Cup Cricket Tournament is planned to involve visiting international students and Australian players in a round-robin series of limited-overs matches at several cricket ground around the city.

    It will be held on the weekend of August 16-17.

    Bronwyn this week (July 23) visited CQUniversity Rockhampton to run a free essay-writing workshop, in partnership with the University's Communications and Learning Centre and the CQUniversity Bookshop.

    Around 40 senior high school students from the Rockhampton region will get a taste of forensics and exercise physiology when they visit CQUniversity for a science Extended Learning Program (ELP).

    The students will attend morning and afternoon sessions at the campus on Tuesday, August 5.
